He's an ok teacher for this, but if you can, take Schooff instead for this course. There are no tests in this class, but there are quite a few meaningless papers and group work.

Read the book!
Dr. Ward's lectures and PowerPoints just rehash the stuff in the book, but he does tend to leave out some details, which he'll pull back out for the exams/"Knowledge Demonstrations". Print/download his PowerPoints, and then look over the chapter to fill in the gaps. Use the terminology that the book uses -- in disputes he tends to side with the book even though it may be wrong.

The project in this class is a group project. Topics can be chosen by the group, and consist of a 5000-word (max) essay and a 15 minute presentation. Pick a topic that isn't too hard, but isn't too easy either.

He's an ex-cop. He'll occasionally tell stories, and they're awesome.

Easy
Easy class. I didn't show up for most classes and did fine, but I already knew the material from CISCO classes in high school. The only grades are 4 tests, a group project and a group paper. Didn't get an A because even if you understand the material the tests are somewhat worded tricky, ask for specific data that was buried in the book, or have two choices that are both correct where you choose the best. Tests are generally multiple choice.

DO NOT TAKE IT ONLINE
this class is very hard online. there is like 30 slides per chapter and the tests are for every 3-5 chapters so there is like 90-150 slides for you to look through and take notes, also the tests online are timed so it is not like a take home test. the review guides DO NOT WORK i found the answers to all the questions on the review guide in the book but when i took the test the review guide was trash. take it in a classroom NOT ONLINE
