EMEC-3250
Mechanics of Elastic Bodies

Dr Krause is an awesome teacher. He is a pretty tough grader but it will help you in future classes. There is a fair amount of homework and a few exams. Getting some past exams is helpful because problems are similar and some of the short answer questions are identical. Be sure to go to class and if you understand how to do the homework, you will probably be fine. Highly recommend any class with Krause.

Great Teacher, Have to Work at Class
Dr. Krause is a great teacher! In fact, he has been one of my favorite engineering teachers to take.

He explains material well and is great at answering your questions. Plus, he is a funny guy.

The only bad thing about his class is points. You only have 100pts in the entire class, tests are 20pts. Every point is a percent off your grade.

CIVE-341
Introduction to Structural Engineering

Dr. Krause is easily the best Civil Engineering instructor at UNO, and students leave his class knowing much more than when they came in. What comes along with that is that he expects A LOT. Weekly homework assignments typically take 7 to 10 hours and he is not afraid to take away points, especially on exams. Each 15 point test is worth 15 percent of your grade, and the simplest mistake will lose you a point. If you do your homework well, take good notes, and study your ass off, you might pull an A, but no guarantees.

Dr. Krause is one of the best instructors in engineering overall. He actually goes through examples and explains concepts clearly. His notes aid with homework problems. His tests are somewhat difficult, depending on how much of the material you know.

Amazing professor-one of the best at UNO, but really hard grader. Tests and homework are hard, but good/relevant. Old tests help, concept questions mostly are same and he mixes old problems with a few new ones.

Great teacher, Have fun trying to get an A
You really can't deny how great of a teacher Krause is. If you ask him, he will explain everthing you want to know in detail after class. He will help you find internship opportunities even. The one bad thing about him is grading. If you are in CIVE then I am sure you have heard this over and over again. EVERY POINT COUNTS in Krause's class. This is especially hard in this semester because the last test and the final have large matrix operation problems that are easy to mess up algebraically. Honestly, if it weren't for those problems I would have had an A in this class. No amount of studying can prepare you for finding algebra errors. You just have to be good at it.

Otherwise, great class. The lab is super easy and supplements the class, focusing on design calculations.

Words of advice: It is smart to take linear algebra before this class.
You'll have to do a lot of work for an A in this class (and be good at algebra ^^).
