Horrible Class
Bloechle for the most part just recycles his old quizzes. So I'd get your hands on them at all costs. This is because he runs out of time in class lecturing but will go ahead and give you a quiz with stuff on it you never discussed in class. He also gives you questions with funny wording. A lot of really smart people did really bad on the quizzes. He also doesn't actually go over everything he has on his little handouts he gives you so I'd stop him if I were you if he skips over a section because he will hold you accountable for the knowledge. The quizzes are worth about 65% of your grade and the final is worth 35%. The final is absolutely ridiculous. If I had any advice I'd say MEMORIZE EVERYTHING! you have in your notes. It's 75 questions T/F, multiple choice, and short answer. Sounds easy, right? It's not. His questions are so random and detailed that it's almost impossible to answer about half of them with out straight memorization! Like listing all 6 of the ASCE cannons of ethics or listing 6 common specs in the specs documents. Or knowing what's in the AIA documents. Things that nobody expected to have to reproduce from scratch. I've heard from a lot of previous students that they studied as much for this final as they did for a normal 3 or 4 credit hour class.
