Juvenile Delinquency and Justice
Description
This course focuses on how delinquents and juveniles in need of supervision are handled within the juvenile justice system. The nature and extent of delinquent behavior, status offenses, child abuse and neglect; theories of delinquency and their implications for intervention; cultural and social factors related to delinquency; as well as the philosophy and functioning of the juvenile justice system are covered. Prereq: Student must be admitted into upper division CJUS program or permission of instructor or have a minor declared in CJUS.
