Human Relations for Bias-Free Classrooms

This course is designed to develop pre-service teachers' awareness of and skill in meeting students' needs in the areas of human understanding, acceptance and value. Students will examine existing attitudes toward various minority groups such as racial, ethnic, age, sex, etc. School materials and attitudes will also be examined in determining the effect they have on students. This course meets the human relations requirement for teacher certification in Iowa. Prereq: 2.50 GPA
