What is OurUNO?
OurUNO is a community of user created content. The focal point
of all this is the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and so most
of the content is reviews and information about the school, its
courses, and instructors.
Our Mission
OurUNO exists to be a student created, and student run site to facilitate the free exchange of opinions and information among the UNO student population. It is meant to be an embodiment of the ingenuitive spirit of the university, and of the students as a collective.
We are seeking to house quality information and reviews, and towards this end we require all contributing users to be UNO students, faculty, or staff. We believe strongly in freedom of information. Regardless of your affiliation with the university all content will be made available without registration or fee.
Another core value of the OurUNO staff is integrity. This site will never become a haven for plagiarism and cheating, nor will it house hateful, lewd, or obscene content. This integrity will be enforced with quick deletion of such content and the banning of all involved parties.
Whats with the ads?
In keeping with our goals of integrity, we feel it is important to have financial disclosure. Any revenue provided by ads goes directly into supporting the sites costs. Once costs are taken care of for a month the revenue is divided evenly towards saving for low income months and paying developers for new features. No donation money will ever be used for anything other than hosting or advertising costs unless expressly denoted by the donor.
At this point ads don't even provide enough to cover hosting fees from month to month, but they do help.
Anonymity
All reviews submitted to OurUNO will be posted anonymously. We collect your UNO user name during a review for two reasons. One is so that we can be sure that all reviews posted to the site come from genuine UNO students. Two is so that we can deal with blocking and banning students who break the rules.
Your information will never be given out to anyone unless supeonaed, which they never should be unless you are writing libelous reviews which would be removed and get you banned anyway.
So what can I do?
Participate! Since we are just getting started we need reviews and information like we need those really cool blue suede shoes. Which is to say very badly. So go create a review!
